Week 43: a reflection and a farewell
I’ve been working on an exemplar service for Ontario One Call: sharing locate requests.
This is a reflection and a farewell. My time with Ontario One Call has come to an end, so I thought I’d reflect on what we’ve accomplished since the beginning of the engagement. We:
- Assessed the organisation’s digital maturity and worked with the executive team to understand what they wanted to change.
- Helped them build a realistic picture of the service they deliver. We showed them a significant gap right in the middle of the service that One Call doesn’t control but is held accountable for.
- Developed a three-year digital and capability roadmap, and encouraged them to publish it openly.
- Built Public Digital a brilliant reputation right across the executive team.
- Supported Kainos through discovery and alpha for two exemplar services.
Thinking back to the first meetings with the client, I could never have imagined we’d achieve the work we’ve done or have the impact we’ve had.
Thank you to my Public Digital colleagues and everyone who’s made me feel welcome at PD. That’s a hard thing to do across countries! There’s something special about the culture at Public Digital: it feels as though everyone is invested in everyone else’s success.
Take care.
