I'm a passionate and confident Product Designer and Leader having graduated university with a BA Hons in Product Design, I’ve spent the last 18 years working in Digital User Experience (UX) and Product Design roles. Over the last seven years as a Design Leader, I've helped organisations build and recruit strong multidisciplinary design teams and establish hugely successful user experience design operations and practices.
I've worked across the UK Government – from GOV.UK to The Ministry of Justice and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), Nando's worldwide, J.K.Rowlings' Pottermore, Visa, Channel4 and National Rail Enquiries.
I’ve worked as part of multidisciplinary agile teams – where I’m as comfortable committing code as I am sketching – and with senior policymakers, senior management teams and board members to help them shape and deliver products and services that meet the needs of users and satisfy the goals of the organisation.
My approach is to help teams gather actionable insight from user research, generate ideas with team members then prototype, test and refine ideas further. The focus of this is always to check assumptions as quickly as possible while striving for simplicity.
I’m an experienced facilitator who has moderated usability testing, service assessments, workshops and co-design sessions. At Virgin Money, I implemented regular lab-based user research sessions and facilitated stakeholder involvement in observing, evaluating and prioritising research findings. I have led design teams, coached and mentored designers, user researchers and content writers — a natural mentor I naturally share knowledge, advice and encouragement with team members. I always look to create strategic partnerships to enable problem-solving solutions with Product, Engineering and Research teams that will be of value to the design profession.
I've written articles published in .Net Magazine and Design Week discussing prototyping, product strategy and design education.
I live in Chamonix in the French alps and spend my free time Snowboarding, Skiing, Climbing and Paragliding, depending on the season.
