Week 19: a now-next-later roadmap
This was a short week that felt long!
I’ve spent most of it turning our initial concepts from the past few months into a three-year roadmap for Ontario One Call. It was a collaborative effort, with valuable input from my Public Digital colleagues.
It’s a basic now-next-later approach, with enough detail to make the case but not so much that it will constrain delivery teams in the future.
There are mundane but important things, like applying a consistent interface to the service using the Ontario Design System, and more challenging things, like making the service open to everyone and using its data to inform decisions about the business.
We had planned to run a series of workshops to do this work, but with time against us we’ve drafted the roadmap first. Next week, we’ll aim to build a sense of shared ownership of it across Ontario One Call.
Outside of work, this week consisted of physio and trying to get back to morning yoga. That resulted in knee pain, which the hypochondriac in me decided must be arthritis, until I iced it and the pain went away.
Hope you have a great weekend!
