Week 18: red lines in a spreadsheet
I’m working on GovTech Barbados, where we’re helping them develop their remit, organisational structure and strategic priorities.
This week has felt like a continuation of the previous one, when I was in Barbados with two Public Digital colleagues. That was a long and intense week.
I’ve been battling jet lag and compiling our final deck to summarise our work. It’s messy and chaotic at the moment, more a collection of ideas than a coherent story of what we’ve learned and what we recommend. We’ll get there, but we have a mountain to climb in the next few weeks.
Apart from that, I’ve prioritised their backlog and had a bit of back and forth with the CEO about what they should be doing. It’s remarkable what red lines in a spreadsheet do to spur people into action.
Now I’ve got four clear days to climb some real mountains.
