Week 32: planning a discovery together
Watching the events in the UK this week has been horrific. I’ve been thinking about the fear many people must feel right now, looking on in despair and disbelief, and feeling unable to contribute meaningfully from France.
I’ve been bad at weeknotes recently. It’s been quiet, or I haven’t had much to say. I’ve been moving house for the third and final time in as many months.
I’m working on phase two of Ontario One Call. We’re working on two exemplar services in partnership with Kainos. I’m stuck in a loop of: okay, we’re making progress; oh no, back here again.
For now, I’ve:
- found an ally in the user researcher from Davis Pier, who is great
- convinced (I think) the team to plan a discovery together rather than creating a siloed, discipline-by-discipline plan
- tried to make the first discovery report less siloed and more user-centred
Outside work, I’ve been climbing.
