Week 4: looking for a silver bullet

24 January 2025

I’ve been rubbish at weeknotes recently. It’s taken me a few weeks to get going this year, but I’m committing to writing a note each week from now on.

I’ve been thinking about whether and how I could post my weeknotes to LinkedIn, or somewhere else, to build awareness of Kollektiv. My weeknotes are reflective, and I don’t think that’s the right tone. I’ll keep thinking about that. If anyone has ideas or opinions about this, I’d love to hear them.

This week:

  • I messaged a few people in Geneva to ask for a chat about digital transformation. I aimed high, but I’m not sure the CIO of the World Economic Forum will ever read my message. No replies yet, but I’ve learnt that the messaging needs to change, and I plan to send more personalised messages to more people next week.
  • I wrote two impact stories. They’re live on the site here, and I want to get more on there in the next few weeks.
  • I spent a lot more time trying to learn LinkedIn Sales Navigator. It’s complicated, and it gets hard to tell one person from the next. I need a better strategy for this.
  • I researched how to sell digital transformation, looking for a silver bullet. I didn’t find one.
  • I wondered if we need an About page and individual profile pages to add more content to the site. I’m resisting this for now, because I’m trying to do as little as possible and I’m not sure people will care.
  • I considered writing blog posts as another way to generate “noise” and build a profile. I’ve been thinking a lot about how we get more people to know about Kollektiv.

Outside of work, I went climbing on Tuesday. I chatted about AI, got a bit cold and scared, and generally had fun.
